Riverbend Orchards is proud to be a licensed propagator of the haskap (honeyberry) cultivars originating from the University of Saskatchewan.
We have developed an efficient system for the propagation of small fruit plants. Riverbend’s haskap plants are propagated by collecting softwood cuttings from young bushes growing in our fields. Rooting of cuttings is done under greenhouse mist in customized Ellepots resulting in a finished plug by late summer.
In addition to rooted cuttings in Ellepots, we also offer larger 2 year-old plants in 1 gallon nursery containers. These larger plants have 10x the root mass of an Ellepot and establish more quickly in field plantings. All of our plants have excellent vigour and survival and have received rave reviews from producers across Canada and the northern United States.
