Dr. Philip Ronald, co-owner of Riverbend Orchards holds a Ph.D. from the Native Fruit Development Program at the University of Saskatchewan. Since graduating from university, he has worked 10 years in the nursery industry followed by 15 years as a fruit-farming entrepreneur.
FARM CONSULTING – $75 per hour – possible topics include orchard site selection; orchard layout; cultivar selection for small fruit & fruit trees; soil fertility; u-pick, wholesale and retail markets for pre-picked fruit. Philip also serves as a mentor in the Manitoba Business Mentorship Network.
SPEAKING – $100 per hour plus travel – Philip can address topics from within broad subject areas such as: 1. prairie fruit production, 2. nursery production, and 3. ornamental plants for the prairie region.
